Calver Weir Restoration Project

Calver Weir is an important part of our local and industrial heritage. It was originally constructed in the 18th Century to provide water power to Calver Mill.

Despite its importance, by the early 21st Century, it had fallen into serious disrepair.

The Calver Weir Restoration Project charity was set up in 2004 to rescue the weir for future generations. Their web site, giving much more information on the Weir, its history and its restoration, is available here.
